The ability to re-focus is one of the most important mental toughness skills. When we are on a roll, every thing we do is working. Our focus is on point. When life throws us a curveball, the ability to re-focus is the sticking point for a lot of us. Re-focusing allows us to get back on “topic” without wasting a lot of time. This may be one of the biggest weaknesses I have. When things are going well, I feel unstoppable. When I reach a goal or get derailed, my ability to re-focus is something that definitely needs to be worked on.
Challenge yourself to re-focus when things are not going well. The faster you can re-focus, the faster you can get back on a roll.
