“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”
At some point, we all need reminders. Things are going well and then BAM, life hits us. It can be a day or a week but life throws us curveballs and things seem harder. Reminding yourself of the important things, like love is a healthy reminder. Luckily, the work I am privileged to do is with over 100 athletes (my community) and their coaches. Every day isn’t sunshine and rainbows but it gives me meaning. Working on improving myself physically, mentally, and as a coach comes in waves. Things in life are not linear. And the past couple days, the energy has been lower. But it’s not a death sentence. It’s the yin and yang of life that give it its breadth.
And if you are still discovering what your purpose and meaning are, just remember everyone around you wants the same thing, to be a part of a community and to be loved. So keep pushing on and hustling. You’ll find it. I believe in you.
