“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”
Today marked the first day of transcendental meditation. It was about 8 minutes and I will end the day with it as well. It has been on the mind for a mile and today I took the time to do it. We all need to empty our cups each day so that we may live in the creative world. Our capabilities are present if we allow them to take shape. When I was repeating the mantra in my head, the image of the sound “whooshing” the clutter in my mind to the side was appearing. And what was left was emptiness. It repeated and repeated. This image made me realize that this practice is just like physical training. It won’t be perfect at the start but with more practice it will become easier. And the more I do it, the more benefits I will receive.
I thought about “how will I have time in the mornings” and then I realized what I say to other people. If I don’t have time to do this what will I have time for?
If you are interested in transcendental meditation this is something I watched to get an idea. I’m sure there are more ways of explaining it but this helped me.
